Parents, you are encouraged to attend the first-ever joint Home and School/Board of Trustee Education Committee Parent Forum, from 8:35 - 10:30 am, on Tuesday, November 11, in the McCarthey Campus parlor.
Associate Head of School Jennifer Blake and Director of Curriculum and Instruction Wendell Thomas will be on hand to introduce examples that embody the first goal of the Strategic Plan: Enhance the Student Learning Experience. Five of Rowland Hall's teachers will talk about the work they are already doing that is indicative of our commitment to teaching and learning.
Kate Nevins in the Beginning School will talk about engineering and the young mind; the lessons of Lego robotics will be shared by Lower School teachers Teresa Nelson and Chad Obermark; Middle School's Garrett Stern will talk about how he differentiates learning in his math classes; and Upper School English teacher Kate Taylor will explain how deeper learning takes place when students guide their discussions. We hope you'll take the time to join the conversation on November 11 at 8:30 am.
