“Over the past two summers, I have volunteered at Children’s Center as a teacher’s aid. I was first introduced to the Children’s’s Center during our Half-Day/Whole Heart, and immediately knew that this facility is where I needed to contribute. Many of the children come from underprivileged homes. Moreover, I felt obliged to give these children as much attention and care as possible. As a teacher's aid, I cleaned, facilitated the lesson plan, played with the children during breaks and outdoor activities, arranged meals, and assisted the teachers during field trips. I became very attached to the children. The Children’s Center is a fun, active, rowdy, and unique place to volunteer. Overall, I hope I made as much of a difference in the children’s lives as they did in mine.”

“From day one the girls at Mountain View openly trusted us. Even after everything they had been through, they needed no affirmation from us. Our mere presence was a gift alone. From there we spent various weeks laughing and dancing together in the gym. The enthusiasm and pure pleasure these girls radiated each day was more than anything I had seen at Rowland Hall or anywhere else. They taught me that nothing should be taken for granted, even a simple dance warm up.”
