WHAT A SUCCESS!
The planning and hard work of nearly a year (and one that included hundreds of volunteer hours by our parents) came to fruition at Rowland Hall's fifteenth biennial Auction, held on Saturday, November 6, 2010. The evening was elegant and inspirational, and it achieved its primary purpose of generating a significant net dollar amount for the school's Endowment Fund. It succeeded in that goal with the help of over 400 attendees who committed their personal resources to ensure a bright future for all our students. The funds were earmarked from the get-go by our Board of Trustees for the Endowment Fund, because building a strong financial foundation is the key to Rowland Hall's ability to provide the highest caliber of PreK-12 independent education well into the future. Think of the Endowment Fund as a savings account or a rainy day fund – call it what you will – but our school's fund is not nearly as large as it should be for an institution of our size or our age. Proceeds from this very special event and other future earmarks are necessary to the long term financial health of the school. It can provide a buffer against the highs and lows of the economy while providing a stable financial base against which to borrow in times of capital investment. Thank you to Auction Chairs Leslie and Hal Stone, and to all who attended, volunteered, and spent months planning a most elegant night of friendship, fun and fundraising!
