MathCounts - Many thanks to Sophia Nielsen's family for providing our snack this last Tuesday. The regional competition is almost here, Saturday, February 6. Our participating mathletes should meet me in front of the student union building (Salt Lake Community College, Redwood Campus) at 8:30 am. Remember to bring your calculator, several pencils, a water bottle, and a few nutritious snacks. Lunch will be provided. My best guess at an ending time is sometime between 1:00 and 2:00 pm. Parents are welcome to attend the nail-biting, countdown round which should begin around noon. In the event that we qualify for state, I am planning to have the team meet next week as usual. Thanks in advance to Sara Harper's family for providing snack. Good luck to our mathletes this weekend. Romeo and Juliet rehearsal calendar: Mon: Act 1 - 5pm release Tues: Act 2 - 5pm release Weds: Act 3 - 5pm release Thurs: Act 1 - 5pm release Friday: No after school (Winter sports) Shots Through the Heart The eighth grade French classes are continuing their support of our sister community of Fadiobougou, Mali by selling Valentine's Day candygrams. Each valentine pays for the immunization of a child in Fadiobougou, Mali so that he or she may attend school. Monday will be the last day to purchase the valentines, which will be delivered on Thursday, February 11. Merci! Sustainability It is that time of year again when poor air quality caused by
inversions becomes a health concern for many of us, especially
our children. 50 % of air pollution in Utah comes from car emissions,
so we can all make a difference by not idling our cars. Please
remember the school's Curb Your Carbon policy: when on school grounds
please do not idle your vehicles. The annual Peaks Jazz Festival is coming up on Thursday, February 18th. The Middle School Advanced Band will be attending this. |
