We will complete the Target Round on Monday during our lunch session and the Team Round after school on Tuesday. 801-924-5938 Race to Nowhere is a documentary by independent film maker Vicki Abeles. Race to Nowhere
is an honest look at the real stresses students, families, and schools
face each day. Through interviews and personal narratives, Ms. Abeles
looks at the difficult challenge for parents trying to give their children a rigorous academic education and all the opportunities to succeed in life while at the same time allowing their children to
live a balanced life - something many of the students in the film are
not achieving. Ms. Abeles interviews students struggling to
maintain their mental and personal health while maintaining a high
level of achievement. In addition, the film examines the issues of
stress, homework loads, coping with failure, and cheating. There will be a screening of Race to Nowhere at the Megaplex Gateway Theater on January 28, 2010 at 7:30. We highly recommend viewing this thoughtful and timely documentary. Please see attached postcard or go to www.racetonowhere.com for more information. |
