Resources
The Middle School years can be a challenging season of life for not only the adolescent, but for those parents and family members navigating that season along with their child. To help everyone, Rowland Hall offers a host of resources to provide counsel, assistance, and advice.
Counseling
Our Middle School has a full-time social emotional counselor to attend to the pitfalls and pangs of early adolescence. We also have a full-time academic counselor to assist students and parents in conquering the range of organizational issues and study skills questions that arrise in Middle School as material. Both counselors serve as crucial resources to parents and students and work in conjuction with our Home and School Association to host evening presentations focussing on current issues facing Middle School-aged children.
Academic Support
To facilitate our parents' awareness of student academic progress, all Middle School parents are issued a login and password to PowerGrade, an on-line gradebook, allowing them to see their child's grade and teacher comments. Use of the academic trimester system means that every twelve weeks a report card goes home furtther detailing the academic performance of our students. Parents are issued faculty email addresses and phone numbers to further facilitate communication.
