Beginning School Program
Rowland Hall
offers a Beginning School Enrichment program for students in three’s through Kindergarten classrooms. This program provides a continuing day of enriching experiences for children in a multi-aged group from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and/or 3:15 to 5:30 p.m. each regular school day. Students are required to have a back pack for transporting their gear to the Enrichment classroom.

Registration
Parents must register their child in advance for one or more days a week throughout the school year by filling out the attached form and returning it to the Beginning School campus. You may mail it to: Rowland Hall, 720 Guardsman Way, SLC, UT. 84108 or fax it to 355- 0388, Attn: Beginning School Enrichment. There are a limited number of spaces available. Any changes in your child’s schedule after this form has been turned in need to be directed to Beginning School Administrative Assistant Kourtnee Harris at 355-7485.
Attendance Policy
We will expect your child for the days specified on the registration form. Please note that you will be charged for registered days unless we are notified by a parent one week in advance that the child will not be in Enrichment.
Lunch
Children who attend the Beginning School Enrichment Program from 11:30-3:00 need to bring a lunch from home each day.
Cost
The cost for the Beginning School Enrichment Program is $8.25 per hour, billed on a monthly basis. Please note that if you register for a program and your child does not attend you will be charged for the full session.
Late Fee
Families who are more than five late picking up their child from their registered program will be charged the entire fee for the next program. $1.00 per minute will be charged after 5:30 p.m. Please pick up your children on time.
Check-Out Policy
Each student must be signed out by an authorized adult. We require a written note if someone other than an authorized adult is picking up your child.
Drop-In Care
Drop-in care is possible when space is available, and sign-ups work on a first come-first served basis. You may check with the Beginning School administrative assistant 24 hours in advance to register. Reservation forms are available at the Beginning School reception desk. Drop–in care is not available on Extended Special Days, pre-registration is required on Special Days.
Morning Extended Program
We also offer the AM Extended Program for all students who arrive on the McCarthey campus from 7:30 a.m. to 8:20 a.m. Parents must check in their child in the dining hall. At 8:20 a.m. Beginning School students are escorted to their classes. The AM Extended Program is operated on a drop-in basis only. There is no need to register for morning care. The fee for AM Extended is $8.35 per morning, if your child arrives before 8:00 a.m. After 8:00 a.m., there is no charge.
