Extended Day Program
Lower School/Middle School Program
Extended Day Programs are offered to Rowland Hall’s families who desire before and after school care and activities for their children in a school setting.
Extended Day Programs are designed to be consistent with the philosophy of the school, and provide social and recreational activities that help children grow in an informal and nurturing atmosphere.
The Lower School/Middle School Extended Day Program provides an extended day of enriching and fun experiences from 3:15 to 6:00 p.m. for grades one through eight. Students choose from a variety of classes or enjoy after school time with friends.
Lower School students check in with Extended Day staff at the dining hall computer and receive a snack. Middle School students take the shuttle to the McCarthey Campus where they check in and have snack.
After check-in, brief announcements are given. Students then attend enrichment classes, lessons or remain in our general games and activities program.
All Extended Day Programs are under the supervision of the Director of the Extended Day Program, and are staffed by responsible and caring personnel.
Registration
Parents register their child in advance on a trimester basis. Registration forms for Lower School/Middle School Extended are available from the Extended Program office, main office reception desk, or online. Review the registration form for specific information.
Enrichment classes are offered each trimester. Music lessons are held for the entire year. All students must register in advance as class size and lesson times are limited. Students may join the general program or an enrichment class during the year on a space available basis. Examples of enrichment classes may include; martial arts, chess, yoga, various art classes, Spanish, golf and many more.
Attendance
The Extended office must be notified in advance if the student is going to be absent from registered enrichment classes in the Extended Day Program. This can be done by email or voicemail to the director of the Extended Day Program.
Check-Out Policy
To insure the safety of students and provide us with accurate billing records, each child must be checked out by a parent or authorized adult. In the event someone other than the authorized adult is picking up a student, a written note is required.
Billing
Parents of students attending the Extended Day Program will be billed once a month with additional fees assessed as appropriate. A late fee of $1.00 per minute period will be charged for students who remain after 6:00 p.m.
A.M. Extended Program
The AM Extended Program is for all students who arrive on the McCarthey Campus from 7:30 a.m. to 8:20 a.m. Parents must check in their child in the dining hall.

The cost for AM Extended is a flat fee per morning, if your child arrives before 8:00 a.m. After 8:00 a.m., there is no charge. Review the registration form for specific information.
