One of our best-loved and longest running traditions is the Winter Sports program -- five Friday afternoons in January and February in which first through twelfth grade students and faculty engage in a variety of recreational activities.

Some of the most recent winter sports choices are listed on the left. These activities change and grow with the students' level of interest and availability of venues.

Perfectly situated in the heart of the Wasatch Mountains, Rowland Hall has always emphasized to its students the importance and enjoyment of recreation and particularly of winter sports. Photos from as far back at the 20s and 30s show the young women of Rowland Hall taking advantage of Utah's renowned powder snow. Our records show that the Winter Sports program, as we know it today, officially began in 1965.
