Position Summary

This position will be responsible for overseeing the upper school Girls Soccer program, including planning and orchestrating practices, supervising assistant coaches, attending all games both home and away, and working closely with the Director of Athletics to assure a quality soccer program experience for Rowland Hall student-athletes. Prior coaching experience in a school and/or club setting is preferred.

Primary Job Responsibilities

Plan well-organized practices, give regular positive and constructive feedback to student-athletes as needed, develop and carry out a game plan for matches, be available for all home and away games, oversee and mentor assistant coaches, and meet as needed with the Director of Athletics.

Skills and Requirements

  • Knowledge of the skills and strategies of soccer and the ability to share that knowledge with athletes of various levels of soccer skill and experience.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to oversee and mentor assistant coaches.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Completion of all required courses to obtain a UHSAA Coaching Credential.

  • Help in setting up and taking down the field equipment on game and practice days, including moving soccer goals into place.
  • Have mobility and the ability to move easily around a soccer field and gymnasium, demonstrating skills as needed.
  • Be able to communicate appropriately and effectively with constituents, including student-athletes, families, and colleagues.

Additional Information

This is a part-time (seasonal) position, reporting to the Director of Athletics. The anticipated start date is August 1, 2024.
