Faculty & Staff Profile
Marianne answers to many names: Monna, Marianne, Sister Sue, Ms. Love, and her newest favorite, Nonna. She’s the mother of three outstanding grown children and Nonna to 11 (!) grandchildren. Teaching is a second career for her, beginning in Connecticut, where she taught at polar opposite schools: one in a small shoreline town, and one in New Haven, with Achievement First. She is a self-acclaimed math nerd and will drop everything for a challenging math problem. Between playing with those 11 little ones and spending time with friends and family, you might find Marianne playing piano, riding her blue coaster bike, Tasket, playing pickleball, losing herself in a book, cooking up dinner with friends, or playing board games (Taboo is her favorite). She’s thrilled and honored to be a part of Rowland Hall.
Marianne was a 2023 recipient of the Sumner/Larsen Excellence in Teaching Faculty Awards.
