Galen McCallum

Galen McCallum

Titles: First-Grade Teacher
Biography:

Galen joined the Rowland Hall community as a first-grade teacher in 1999 on the Avenues Campus. She loved learning, exploring, and asking questions along with her young students. This inspired her to continue her education at the University of Utah, where she received her master of education with an emphasis on early literacy. She taught for four years before transitioning into new roles at Rowland Hall: new mom and Lower School tutor.

When the time was right, Galen jumped at the chance to rejoin the first-grade team. She enjoys collaborating with her team and making her classroom a safe place for learning, growing, and lots of laughter. In her free time, Galen enjoys cheering on her three kids, exploring her home state of Washington with her family, and searching for a quiet beach where she can read a book.
