Biography:

Sara joined the Rowland Hall faculty after 15 years of teaching middle school science in Chicago. She is originally from Michigan and earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Michigan State University. After moving to Chicago she went on to obtain her master’s in science education from Concordia University. She also completed a STEM Leadership Certificate focusing on the integration of technology and math in science through a partnership with the Teacher’s College of Columbia University and NASA. Outside of the classroom, Sara enjoys traveling, running, swimming, and cheering on her Spartans.

Sara was the recipient of the Middle School's 2024 Sumner/Larsen Excellence in Teaching Faculty Award.
