Jen Bourque
Master's, Early Childhood and Childhood Education, Bank Street College of Education
Jen attended Bard College and earned a BA in psychology and film and electronic arts. She received her master's in early childhood and childhood education from Bank Street College of Education in New York City. After two years of teaching at LREI in Manhattan, Jen moved to San Francisco, where she rediscovered her love of the outdoors and the West Coast. Before coming to Rowland Hall, Jen taught third and fourth grade at Synapse School in Menlo Park. At Synapse School, she focused on bringing social-emotional learning, design thinking, and project-based learning to the classroom. Jen is passionate about sharing the joy of math with a wider community. In 2018, Jen presented two workshops at the California Mathematics Council’s North Conference and helped to run evening Math Circles in Menlo Park. In her free time, Jen enjoys exploring nature, reading, discovering new podcasts, listening to stand-up comedy, and spending time with family on the East Coast.
