Biography:

Sarah Walsh has been a history teacher at Rowland Hall since 2019. Sarah was born and raised in Brockton, MA, and came to Utah following graduate work in history and pedagogy across masters and doctoral programs at UCLA, the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at the University of London, and in Tokyo at both at the Tokyo Institute of Technology and Tokyo University. At Rowland Hall, Sarah teaches ninth-grade history, as well as a few rotating electives for upper-level students, including a course on Japanese cinema. Across her four years with the school, Sarah has continued to research and write on topics in secondary pedagogy and curriculum design, bringing her work and her students' successes to national and international conferences. Sarah and her spouse, a design professor, share their lives with their two young children and one cat who is old enough to vote.
