Faculty & Staff Profile

Lynn Oliva
Lynn has been teaching Spanish at various levels for over 25 years and came to Rowland Hall after working at the McGillis School. A native of northeastern Ohio, Lynn lived in Southern California to raise her two sons before moving to Utah. She is passionate about sharing the Spanish language, along with Hispanic cultures and histories, with students. She has taught students in private independent schools, immersion schools, public schools, and at the university level. When she is not teaching, Lynn spends as much time as possible in the mountains, hiking and mountain biking. In the wintertime, she can be found trying to skate ski proficiently while not collapsing from exhaustion.
Lynn was the recipient of the Upper School's 2024 Sumner/Larsen Excellence in Teaching Faculty Award.
