Prior to joining the Lower School, Tiya taught second through fifth grades and supported teachers as an elementary mathematics specialist. Tiya is interested in integrating the fine arts into all academic areas and has presented to educators at the Utah Science Teachers Association and Utah Council of Teachers of Mathematics conferences. Raised in Alaska, Tiya loves spending time hiking, biking, and camping in the mountains with her husband and two sons.

Tiya was the recipient of the 2024 Cary Jones Faculty Mentor Award.
