Torry is a lifelong learner. She loves everything to do with schools and learning. She comes to Rowland Hall from Mid-Pacific Institute in Honolulu. At Mid-Pacific, she taught multiage grade 3/4 for 13 years and sixth grade for seven years. Torry is passionate about engaging students in the inquiry process as a means to ignite their joy of learning.

In July 2020, Torry earned her EdD in professional educational practice from the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa. Her dissertation examined the transformation of teachers’ beliefs and practices in the area of inquiry. This achievement was the fulfillment of a lifelong dream that began in the third grade at Rowland Hall. Now she can proudly wear her poofy hat!

Torry and her family recently moved back to Utah after many years of living in Kailua, HI. In her free time, she enjoys skiing, hiking, baking, and reading. Torry, her husband, Ed, her two children, and her chocolate Lab are excited to rediscover the outdoor beauty of Utah.
