Faculty & Staff Profile
Melinda Canfield has worked at Rowland Hall since 2018 as support staff and as a substitute teacher. A Salt Lake native, she graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Spanish education and with a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) certificate. Melinda has taught and worked with children of all ages in diverse settings ranging from homeschool and homeschool co-ops to community groups, daycare, and schools. She is a lifelong learner who has had an interest in education since childhood, when she used to try to convince her siblings and cousins to write and perform plays for their parents.
Melinda has learned A LOT from her awesome kids! And she is still learning from them even as three of them are grown-up, and two are quickly moving in the grown-up direction. She enjoys quiet moments alone, wildflower hikes with her husband and kids, 10-minute workouts with her sisters, walks with friends, and books with anyone who wants to read with her.
