Faculty & Staff Profile
Chloe May
Master of Education, Science Education, University of Washington
Chloe May comes to Rowland Hall from Seattle. Chloe has a background in environmental horticulture, botany, and marine biology, where much of her work was centered around community education. Chloe loves gardening, finding plants in the city and the forest, and talking about plants.
After teaching outdoor school and receiving an MEd from the University of Washington, Chloe taught at independent schools incorporating play into the classroom. Chloe has specialized training in literacy and previously worked at a school for students with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. Chloe believes the best learning happens through asking questions, explicit instruction, and exploring possible answers.
Outside of teaching and thinking about plants, Chloe enjoys hiking and camping, dog-sitting, seeing live music, and playing puzzle games like Wordle and sudoku.
