Tommy Good joined the Rowland Hall faculty in 2026 as a sixth-grade science teacher. He grew up in central Illinois and developed an early fascination with how the natural world works, how it changes, and how people interact with it. He earned a BMA in music and a BA in environmental geoscience from DePauw University (2010), an MS in geology from the University of Utah (2013), and an MEd in secondary education from DePaul University (2015).

Before joining Rowland Hall, Tommy spent more than a decade teaching science in public schools, including three years in Chicago Public Schools and eight at the Salt Lake Center for Science Education at Bryant Middle School. His teaching is grounded in the belief that science is best learned by being curious about the world around us, asking big questions, and approaching answers together as real scientists do. Tommy also oversees the Williamson Science Communication Fellowship through the University of Utah.

Outside of science, Tommy has a lifelong love of music and has played jazz, rock, and classical music throughout his life. He currently performs with the Westminster Chamber Orchestra on the upright bass. He also enjoys tennis, skiing, biking, hiking, traveling, general tinkering, and cheering on the Utah Jazz. On weekends, he can often be found in the mountains or on Saturday morning donut runs before exploring local yard sales with his daughter.
