Biography:

Mary Jo started at Rowland Hall in January 1996 as an Upper School US history teacher and has taught AP American History, Latin American history, and ancient civilizations. She moved to the Middle School in 2000 and is looking forward to another year as the eighth-grade American Studies teacher. She holds a bachelor of arts and master of science in history from the University of Utah. Mary Jo was born and raised in Utah and continues to love all that Utah has to offer. Mary Jo is married with two children, both alumnae of Rowland Hall. She is an avid hiker, knitter, cyclist, and cook. When school's out, you can find Mary Jo traveling and enjoying time with family and friends.

Mary Jo was the recipient of the Middle School's 2005 Sumner Family Excellence in Teaching Award, the 2010 Cary Jones Faculty Mentor Award, and the 2021 Cary Jones Faculty Mentor Award.
