Abigail Bacon has enjoyed teaching and learning at Rowland Hall for 14 years. Originally from the Buckeye State, Señora Abby fell in love with the Spanish language at a young age. She studied the language, culture, and linguistics throughout her years of education at Denison University, La Universidad Academia de Humanismo Cristiano in Santiago de Chile, where she lived and learned during college, and Miami University. Abby continues to seek opportunities to learn and grow, frequently attending and presenting at conferences around the country.

Abigail fell in love with the western states of the U.S.A. during graduate school and has since made it her home with her spouse, Jason, their two daughters, Lizzie and July, their dog, Captain, and their fish, Mr. Handsome. When not teaching Spanish, Abby teaches group fitness classes and spends time with her family, often playing in the great Utah-some outdoors.

Abby was the recipient of the 2021 Lower School Sumner Family Excellence in Teaching Award.
