Biography:

Grounding herself as a dance educator and outreach curriculum designer at Rowland Hall since August 2003, Sofia Gorder is a dancer, choreographer, professor, dance education teacher, and curriculum consultant based out of Salt Lake City. She holds an MA in dance from California State University Long Beach and a BFA in modern dance from the University of Utah. She has served as creative director for a number of dance companies locally and nationally, and is well known for executing large-scale collaborations in the arts for social change through dance, film, theater, writing, and performance art. She works with Brolly Arts as a local resident artist on community projects whenever given the opportunity. She's the mother of two children who are really cool, and are likely her most exciting collaborative artistic endeavor yet!

Sofia was the recipient of the Middle School's 2011 Sumner Family Excellence in Teaching Award.
