Biography:

Ben graduated from Rowland Hall in 1989 and went on to attend Bowdoin College, where he earned a BA in studio art with a coordinate major in environmental studies and a minor in art history. Ben started his career teaching photography at Copper Hills High School in West Jordan, UT, for five years. Ben has taught computer science, photography, environmental science, and yearbook at Rowland Hall. He received a master's in instructional design and educational technology from the University of Utah in 2014 and is an advocate of purposeful educational technology and computer science curriculum. Ben and his wife, Lindsey, are the proud and busy parents of son, Elliott, and twins, Grace and Sam. Ben enjoys backpacking, fly fishing, and playing hockey.

Ben was a recipient of the 2011 Sumner Family Excellence in Teaching Award and a 2022 recipient of the Cary Jones Faculty Mentor Award.
