Faculty & Staff Profile
Ms. Allison Spehar
M.Ed., Education, Culture, and Society, University of Utah
Allison Spehar joined the Rowland Hall community in 2013 as the Middle School dance teacher. She has worked with many K-12 schools, nonprofits, colleges, universities, and dance studios to educate others—both through movement experiences and theoretical lectures—about the boundless effect dance can have on life. Allison holds a BFA in modern dance from the University of Utah, where she performed, taught, and choreographed. She also holds an M.Ed. in education, culture, and society, which provides an equity and justice lens to all of her work. Allison enjoys empowering students to integrate their body knowledge into their school day. She has performed, choreographed, taught, and lectured across Utah and the nation, but always enjoys coming back to the mountains, desert, and phenomenal dancers of Utah. When she isn't dancing, Allison loves spending time with her family on hikes and in the water, or lying in her hammock reading a good book.
