Biography:

Mary joined Rowland Hall in 1996. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Nebraska, attended Oxford University for medieval and Renaissance studies, and completed a post-baccalaureate licensure program in English language arts at the University of Minnesota. Mary teaches sixth-grade English. Mary is the co-head coach for the Middle School cross-country team. She is an avid biker, runner, back-country skier, and reader. Mary and her partner, Dawn, have four children (Sam, Harper, Chloe, and Mikel) who attend Rowland Hall.

Mary was the recipient of the Middle School's 2003 Sumner Family Excellence in Teaching Award, the Middle School's 2005 Sumner Family Excellence in Teaching Award, and the 2013 Cary Jones Faculty Mentor Award.
