Biography:

Sam joined the Middle School's World Languages Department in the spring of 2024 while completing his master's degree in teaching. Simultaneously, he completed his student teaching at Rowland Hall for a secondary music license, under the mentorship of Jeremy Innis and Bret Jackson. Thanks to his international upbringing (Belgium, Qatar, Venezuela, Colombia, USA), he has a deep love for language learning and cross-cultural communication. He holds a minor in Spanish alongside his music and teaching degrees, and has traveled to numerous Francophone and Spanish-speaking countries.

Sam attended Rowland Hall as a junior and senior. His senior quote was, predictably, "To have another language is to possess a second soul" (attr. Charlemagne). As an undergraduate student, he stayed close by, working for the school's auxiliary programs (Extended Day and SummerWorks), and later becoming a substitute teacher across all four divisions. In his spare time, he may be found knitting, singing opera, playing the trumpet, advocating for public transportation, or pretending to know how to cook.
