Our Campuses

An Extraordinary Learning Environment

Since 1867, Rowland Hall has been part of Utah history, with our story unfolding across Salt Lake City.

From our humble beginnings in a Main Street bowling alley and St. Mark’s Cathedral, to our longtime home in the historic Avenues neighborhood, Rowland Hall’s campuses have always reflected the school’s growth, resilience, and deep connection to Salt Lake City. Today, that story continues on our two beautiful campuses near 9th & 9th and the University of Utah, and it will reach our next major milestone on December 2, 2026, when we open the Richard R. Steiner Campus, the future home of grades 6–12.

A NEW CHAPTER

In 2026, Rowland Hall will open the Richard R. Steiner Campus, the new home of our Middle School, Upper School, athletics complex, and performing arts center. Located next to the McCarthey Campus, the Steiner Campus will unite our community at one location for the first time in more than 40 years, allowing for expanded programmatic and collaborative opportunities.

The Steiner Campus includes state-of-the-art facilities that support programmatic priorities, flexible-use spaces, and three centers that emphasize deep learning:

  • The Center for Community Impact, designed to educate, empower, and inspire students to become agents of positive change in their local communities and beyond.
  • The Center for Science, Engineering, and Research will feature collaborative science classrooms and student-led research areas.
  • The Center for Design and Creativity, featuring maker workshops and a robotics hub.
