Kathy has been the head softball coach, assistant volleyball coach, assistant swimming coach, and physical education instructor at Rowland Hall since 1993. She is the co-founder of Swing for Life, a breast cancer foundation which originated at Rowland Hall. The foundation has raised over $1.3 million since its inception. She graduated from the University of Utah with a major in physical education. She had scholarships to play volleyball, basketball, and softball at Colorado Mesa University and Utah State University Eastern. She also coached a nationally ranked softball team for eight years. Kathy’s career accolades include the following:

  • Utah High School Activities Association Distinguished Service Award, 2014
  • Utah YWCA Outstanding Achievement award, 2013
  • Inducted into the Utah Softball Hall of Fame as an athlete and coach, 2012
  • Huntsman Cancer Foundation Super Hero, 2011
  • Swing for Life Region 14 Foundation Outstanding Achievement Award for Community Service, 2005
  • Rowland Hall Sumner Faculty Award, 2004
  • National Federation of State High School Associations State and Sectional Coach of the Year, 2002
  • Utah High School Softball Coaches Association Coach of the Year, 2000 and 2002
