Middle School Winter Sports 2022

A Team (Coach: Sam Duffy)

The Rowland Hall A team finished the season with a 4-3 record. The team competed in every game and was able to show great improvement from the beginning of the year to the end of the season. The A team learned how to communicate, compete, and have a deeper understanding of the game of basketball. Being able to compete against other schools that had solid programs was a great experience for our players. This group has some great athletes and basketball players that have great potential of being a successful basketball team in the future!

B Team White (Coach: Shuja Khan)

The white B team did an incredible job this year! There was so much growth over the course of the season; it truly made me proud as a coach. By the end of the season, the kids were able to run a complicated offense with poise and control—not an easy thing to do in middle school! They worked so well with each other. The ball never got stuck in anyone's hands … the kids played with the kind of selflessness every coach wants to see. They were tough and resilient and willing to learn—all the things a coach could possibly want. I was so happy to be with this group!

B Team Green (Coach: Sarah Yoon)

The green B team had a terrific season! After a year of no games due to the pandemic, the boys were eager to get out on the court. They worked hard during practices and learned to work together as a team. Throughout the season, they remained passionate and competitive while displaying gracious sportsmanship toward each other and the opposing team. With only one loss, the green team had a fun and exciting season that left everyone hungry for more. They are already looking forward to next year and can’t wait to get more buckets!

C Team White (Coach: Scott Langone)

I'm so proud of the C team. The improvements made in such a short amount of time were amazing. The team went from running the wrong direction for an inbounds play during the first couple of weeks to being able to change defense (zone or man) mid-game and run a couple of offensive sets each time down the court. I was also thoroughly impressed with the skill development each player made over the season, and the bond each player had for one another. I can't wait to watch this group mature and continue their basketball development. The future of Rowland Hall basketball looks amazing.

C Team Green (Coach: Sam Duffy)

This season the C team developed basketball skill work, understanding of the game, and how to compete at a fast pace, making it such a fun season. The C team only lost one game to a team that they ended up beating in the last game of the season, showing their growth. It was an honor to coach such a fun, talented group! We received praise from other schools' coaches about our player's skills and sportsmanship. It was a great season!
