Upper School Athletics
Rowland Hall Athletics provides a positive, competitive environment that emphasizes skill training, commitment, respect, accountability, and development of character and self-esteem—all while enjoying the camaraderie of a team experience.
Rowland Hall’s Upper School is classified as a Division 2A school in Region 17 of the Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA).
Our Upper School Winged Lions regularly win Region and State championships. Added to that are the numerous accolades for individual athletes; the 2018–2019 and 2017–2018 2A Directors Cup for success in athletics, academics, sportsmanship, and student leadership; the UHSAA Sportsmanship Award; numerous Utah Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (UIAAA) Highest Team GPA awards; and the Deseret News All-Sports Award winner as the 2A school with the most state championships in 2007–2008. Rowland Hall typically places in the top five for the 2A All-Sports Award.
Meet the Athletic Director
Rowland Hall Athletic Director Kendra Tomsic has had an acclaimed career here, including being the first woman in the state to serve as the president of the Utah Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association. She has been named athletic director of the year by several organizations, and in 2012, she was honored with the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association's Distinguished Service Award at their annual conference.
