Center for Community Impact

Rowland Hall’s Center for Community Impact is designed to educate, empower, and inspire individuals to become agents of positive change in their local communities and beyond.

In support of the school’s vision of Developing People the World Needs, the Center aims to achieve this mission by:

  • Amplifying a deep sense of civic responsibility and social consciousness among students
  • Accelerating students’ leadership development and providing them with meaningful opportunities to become empathic and ethical global citizens
  • Providing students with educational resources and opportunities for experiential learning, community-based student research, design thinking and entrepreneurial development, and place-based learning
  • Facilitating collaboration between students, educators, families, and community partners
  • Promoting ethical leadership and advocacy for positive social change
  • Addressing pressing community needs through deliberate dialogue, research, community-based initiatives, and engagement projects

The Center for Community Impact is a testament to the school's commitment to educational excellence and community engagement. By providing students with the tools, knowledge, and experiences needed to drive positive change, and engaging in deep and reciprocal partnerships with key stakeholders in the community, the Center is poised to make a lasting impact on the Salt Lake City community and beyond. Serving a public purpose through community engagement, Rowland Hall’s Center for Community Impact strives to help shape a better future for all.

Core Pillars

The Center for Community Impact operates under a set of fundamental pillars that drive our mission forward:

By emphasizing these pillars, we empower individuals to affect meaningful change and cultivate a brighter future for all.

Initiatives

Faculty Fellows in Residence Program

The Faculty Fellows in Residence program is designed to bring experienced community leaders into a collaborative environment where they can contribute their expertise, support student development, and enhance the overall educational program for Rowland Hall students. Read more about this program and submit your interest through our application process. Reach out to Dr. Chandani Patel, director of equity and inclusion, with further questions.

Community Partners Breakfast Meetings

Community partners breakfasts gather individuals and organizations working along the Wasatch Front in areas aligned with the Center for Community Impact’s core pillars. These breakfasts provide opportunities to network and build relationships with partners, do some learning together around pressing topics or innovative frameworks and tools, and identify initiatives that we can work on together to benefit our larger community.
