Parents & Caregivers

Families gather in the library for a parent education talk as a speaker presents to a full room.

Families play an essential role at Rowland Hall.

As parents and caregivers, you’re partners in your children’s education and an important part of our school community.

Throughout the year, we stay connected through clear communication, shared experiences, and ongoing opportunities for you to engage with school life. Together, our home-school partnership creates a supportive environment that allows students to do their best learning.

Home & School Association

We believe a vibrant school community includes engaged and connected families. That’s why every parent and caregiver automatically becomes a member of the Home & School Association, our parent-school organization. Participation is flexible, with opportunities for every level of involvement, from one-time volunteering to ongoing leadership.

Home & School builds strong relationships among families, students, faculty, and staff through thoughtful programming and community events. Volunteers partner with the school to organize a wide range of gatherings and activities, including classroom celebrations, used uniform sales, faculty and staff appreciation efforts, welcoming events for new families, and parent and caregiver socials.

Handbook Highlights

Rowland Hall partners with students and families to support academic growth and emotional well-being through individualized planning, reasonable accommodations, and shared responsibility.

Families should contact the division office to relay messages to students during the school day, as students do not have access to personal devices until ninth grade.

Email is the preferred way to contact teachers and division principals, and families should allow up to one school day for a response.

The Beginning School dress code is designed to support safety, comfort, and independence while creating a consistent, respectful learning environment for all students.

The Lower School dress code promotes a safe, comfortable, and focused learning environment and relies on partnership with families to ensure students arrive dressed appropriately each day.

Middle School dress standards balance personal expression with the needs of an academic community, encouraging students to make thoughtful, respectful choices that support learning and well-being.

Upper School dress standards emphasize mature self-expression and personal responsibility while maintaining a respectful, academic environment aligned with the school’s mission and community values.

To protect the health of the school community, students who are ill or showing symptoms of contagious illness should remain home and may return to school only after meeting the outlined health criteria.

To ensure student safety and compliance with state regulations, all medications at school or on school-sponsored trips must follow established authorization, administration, and storage procedures.
