It arrives at the Quarry Village (Jeremy Ranch) stop at approximately 6:15 pm. The shuttle runs Monday through Thursday.
In an effort to plan for the number of daily riders, please fill out this form when you are planning to have your child(ren) ride the late bus to Park City. Please fill out a separate form for each of student.
Families will be invoiced monthly for Late Bus usage. Fees, per ride, are as follows:
Registered Bus Riders, per ride | Unregistered Bus Riders, per ride | |
1-10 rides/month | $10 | $15 |
11, or more, rides/month | $5 | $10 |

Campus Shuttles
Free shuttles run between our McCarthey Campus and Lincoln Street Campus before and after school. Our shuttle schedule is listed below. Please note that the morning shuttle only runs from the Lincoln Street Campus to the McCarthey Campus. If your child uses these services, please make sure they are on the bus on time as we are on a tight schedule, and the bus will need to depart promptly.
2024/25 Update: Due to the impact of the construction of our new Steiner campus, traffic flow will be adjusted. We thank you in advance for your patience as we work through logistics.

Bus Rules and Safety
Rowland Hall bus rules are in place to ensure the safety of our students and drivers. Review the rules.
Unlike many school buses, all Rowland Hall buses have been retrofitted with seat belts to ensure the safety of our students. Buses used for kindergarten field trips have four-point harnesses.
Maintenance is performed regularly on the buses, and the Utah Highway Patrol performs bi-annual inspections to ensure proper maintenance and compliance.
Rowland Hall is a member of the Utah Safety Council.
To ensure a safer air quality around our students our buses support the school’s “No Idling” pledge, which states that if you are stopped for longer than 10 seconds at the school or bus stops that you turn off your engine. Parents, while at the bus stops, are also asked to follow the school’s pledge.
Staff
All drivers are screened and have class B or class A commercial drivers' licenses. Drivers undergo background checks and are trained in CPR and First Aid. Random drug and alcohol screenings are performed throughout the year.

Students will be charged the general program fee of $14 an hour, prorated per minute, for the time they are checked in with us. There is no charge for children dropped off between 8–8:15 am. Please email Robert Prestgard-Duke to inquire about getting your child on our AM Extended Care list.
Beginning School PM Extended Day
The Beginning School PM Extended Day program is available to all Beginning School students from the end of the school day (3:15 pm) until 5:30 pm, and takes place in the Little Gym and on the Beginning School playground. Lower School Extended Day
Lower School AM Extended Day
The Lower School AM Extended Day program is for Lower School students who arrive at the McCarthey Campus before school. It takes place in the Little Gym at the Beginning School from 7:30 am until the bell rings at 8:15 am, and is combined with the Beginning School AM Extended Day program. Students will be charged the general program fee of $14 an hour, prorated per minute, for the time they are checked in with us. There is no charge for children dropped off between 8–8:15 am. Please email Robert Prestgard-Duke to inquire about getting your child on our AM Extended Care list.
Lower School PM Extended Day
The PM Extended Day program provides enriching and fun experiences from 3:15 to 6 pm after each school day. Immediately after school, students check in at the dining hall computer and receive a pre-packaged snack. They can choose from a wide variety of in-person private music lessons and weekly enrichment classes. Students can also attend our regular Extended Day program, where they can participate in games, crafts, and activities with their peers. Registration for these classes/lessons and the full fall catalog of after-school offerings are available in the parent portal.
Families will be charged an hourly rate of $14 per hour, prorated per minute, for the afternoon program if your child is pre-registered with us. Drop-in attendees are charged $15 per hour, prorated per minute. Families arriving after 6 pm will be charged an additional late fee of $1 per minute.
If you are new to the Extended Day program, please create your Extended Day account in order to register for the program.
Middle School Extended Day
The Middle School commons is open at 8 am for all Middle School students, free of charge.
Middle School students who would like to take part in the Extended Day program may do so on the Lower School campus.
Middle School students who cannot be picked up by 3:45 pm should take the shuttle bus up to the McCarthey Campus. The shuttle departs promptly at 3:30 pm from the 800 South bus parking zone; it will usually be bus #3, driven by Rhett Card. Supervision is not available at the Middle School beyond 3:45 pm. Middle School students will join the Extended Day program in the dining hall at the McCarthey Campus, which is available until 6 pm, Monday through Friday. If you choose to use this service, you will be charged the Middle School price of $12 per hour, prorated per minute. Please create your Extended Day account to register for the program.
Some private music lessons are held at the Lincoln Street Campus, but there is no supervision available for students once they get out of their lessons, so please be prompt in picking up your child.
The Park City late bus will continue to depart from the Lincoln Street Campus at 5:45 pm for athletes practicing on that campus.
Special Day Extended Care
Special days of care for grades 4PreK–8 are offered on days that school is not in session, such as parent-teacher conference days and some faculty/staff in-service days. Programs are designed to be consistent with the philosophy of the school and provide social and recreational activities that help children grow in an informal and nurturing atmosphere. Please look for updates about these days of care in Friday Facts.

School Lunch
Rowland Hall partners with Sage Dining Services to provide a variety of healthy and delicious lunch choices for first through twelfth grades. Daily features include freshly prepared soups and entrees, along with sandwiches, a build-your-own specialty salad bar, and freshly made dressings. House-roasted and hand-sliced deli meats, a variety of locally baked breads, a minimum of two fresh vegetables and fresh-cut fruit are also served daily. Middle School and Upper School students also have a variety of à la carte and snack items to choose from in our Lincoln Street Campus cafeteria.
Our sustainability initiatives are integral to our lunch program and are woven throughout our practices. Sage Dining Services shares our commitment to sustainable practices and they work closely with us when choosing local vendors, selecting products and designing the dining program. Food scraps are collected daily from both of our kitchens and the McCarthey Campus cafeteria and added to our on-site composting Earth Tub. The compost produced is used in our science garden at the Lower School.
Food Services Pricing
- Participation in our cafeteria program is optional and involves an additional daily fee of $6.87 for Lower School students at the McCarthey Campus.
- Lower School students who bring lunch from home can also purchase milk separately for $1.05.
- Meals at the Lincoln Street Campus cafeteria for Middle School and Upper School students are priced à la carte.
- Both cafeterias are cashless. Students use their unique PIN to purchase their food. Parents are billed monthly for their food purchases.
- School lunch is not available for Beginning School students.
