In mid-February, first and second graders celebrated the 100th day of school. Leading up to this special day, students tracked the number of days in school and connected it to place value. The 100th day is the perfect time to have fun with the number 100 while exploring counting, sorting, patterning, sequencing, and various other math skills and concepts.  Once the 100th day arrived, students celebrated this fun-filled day by making necklaces with 100 beads, writing poems related to the number 100, mapping out 100 steps at school, and measuring 100 pennies. The day culminated with an energetic 100th day dance in the dining hall.
