Annual Fund

The Annual Fund provides the critical difference between what is ordinary and what is extraordinary about the Rowland Hall experience. It touches all aspects of school life, from classrooms to the library, from technology to the playground, from our debate program to jazz band, and from the stage to the athletic fields. This past year, the Annual Fund supported projects such as: 

Beginning School & Lower School

• Implementation of updated social-emotional learning curriculum
• Expansion of formal science specialty to 4PreK and kindergarten
• TREC (technology, robotics, engineering, and coding) materials and supplies

Middle School

• Project-based learning curriculum supplies
• 3D printers
• Field trips
• Guest speakers and artists
• New ski touring gear for backcountry ski module

Upper School

• Beyond the Classroom experiences
• Online learning opportunities
• International debate travel
• New classes: Sculpture Foundations, Integrated Design Studio, AP Art History, Mock Trial and Model United Nations
• National Association of Independent Schools Student Civic Leadership Summit in Washington, DC

School-Wide

• Various student opportunities and conferences
• Faculty professional development

We aim for 100% participation from everyone in the Rowland Hall community. High participation is a vote of confidence and a sign that the community is dedicated to and supports the school’s mission and vision. The percentage of participation can also have an impact on gifts from outside sources; most foundations consider participation rates before agreeing to donate funds to a school.

A gift is a donation now. A pledge is your commitment to donating by June 30, the last day of our fiscal year.

Yes. Many donors benefit from additional tax advantages by donating highly appreciated assets, such as stock, directly to Rowland Hall. When transferred directly to a 501(c)(3) nonprofit like Rowland Hall, you may be able to avoid paying capital gains tax. Donor-advised funds also allow you to make charitable gifts easily while receiving immediate tax benefits.
