Every year, the Board of Trustees and school community thank and bid farewell to the dedicated board volunteers who have worked hard for many years on behalf of the school. This year, we say goodbye to two trustees who provided exemplary service to Rowland Hall. Our sincerest thanks to them for their contributions.

Marina Lowe served on the board for three terms (2017–2026). A thoughtful and highly respected leader, Marina brought deep expertise in law, public policy, and the legislative process to her work as a trustee. She served as chair of the Governance & Nominating Committee, where she helped strengthen board practices and thoughtfully steward trustee leadership and recruitment, and as chair of the Inclusion, Equity, and Outreach Committee, where she championed efforts to foster a more inclusive and welcoming community. Marina also served as a member of the Head Support and Evaluation Committee, where she provided steady guidance and partnership during the arrival and transition of Head of School Mick Gee. In addition, she was a key member of the Institutional Risk Committee, and we are happy that she will continue to bring her expertise to the board by remaining on the committee. Throughout her service, Marina consistently offered clear insight, sound judgment, and a strategic perspective. We are deeply grateful for her dedicated service and many contributions to Rowland Hall.

Mike Yeates joined the board in 2022 and quickly became a trusted and influential leader during a pivotal period for the school. Beginning in 2023, he served as chair of the Finance Committee and also contributed as a member of both the Investment Committee and Institutional Risk Committee. Throughout his service, Mike provided steady financial leadership and strategic insight, playing a critical role in helping guide the school through the successful securing of debt financing necessary to fund the Steiner Campus. He also helped lead the evolution of the school’s compensation philosophy, supporting a thoughtful transition away from the Salt Lake City School District pay scale. Known for his thoughtful, steady, and strategic approach, Mike has demonstrated a deep commitment to the long-term success and mission of Rowland Hall, and we are profoundly grateful for his service and leadership.
